I recently had a very minor head gasket leak or intake gasket, unsure of the problem, got the van from my grandpa who drove it for almost a year after the mechanic said when you start the van it spudders a bit could be a head gasket, so he never had to fill the thing with coolant at all, I noticed when it got cold that the heat would be of on kind of weird so not wanting to dump more money into this thing then it's worth I put some irontite all weather seal in it and have had it in for 2 months now and it fixed the spudders on startup problem, so now since that's fixed I've been set that the thermostat is shot with random temp spikes , before I put a new tstat in I did research an found there is air in the lines, so I have been bleeding it and it seems to never stop but the last couple nights I have got an excessive amount out and had to add a couple litres of antifreeze , has gotten better, less temp spikes etc. anybody have any luck with leaving there car on a hill with the rad cap off? Or should I keep up the steady bleeding? Thanks josh , ps any other tricks will help. Just want to get this air out and the heat working awesome again
