alternators

They show different part numbers for the 2 engines.
 
Could that be bc of the amperage. The reason is I'm buying a high output alt and they only show the ones for the 2.4 and I own a 2.2. Would you recommend giving it a shot?
 
Not unless the manufacturer says it will fit. Check out the alternator listings at www.napaonline.com. They list both engines, try filtering one and then the other and see if they are the same other than amperage.
