It's coming from underneath from a flat metal rectangle object with a grid pattern on it, I'm not sure what this is but what should I do or where should I start? Is this something I could fix myself or do I have to take it in?

put a pressure test on the coolant system and look where it is coming from

That would most likely be your radiator. There's products out there to stop small leaks. Or ive even heard stories of cracking a raw egg into the radiator. I wouldnt try it myself, but hey its cheap lol.

The 2 biggest culprits on that engine is the water pump and the intake manifold gasket. Take it to a shop and have it pressure tested to see what the actual cause is and go from there.
