1999 Sunfire 2.2L Auto.....The (!)(P) parking brake light on the dash is on all the time, even when the Park Brake is released. I tried adding some brake fluid to the master cylinder, even though it wasn't down, as a possible fix, but, lights' still on. I have also cleaned and ultimately replaced the switch on the Park Brake mechanism. Not fixed.

Anything else I should be doing to fix this problem?

Thanks.

Thanks for the reply and the link. We don't have the owners manual for this car. The braking system seems to work fine...brakes as normal. If there is a leak, I can't find it as there are no drips on the garage floor. The light has been on for a week or 2 now, and the car is driven everyday and parked in the same place each night. Also, the fluid level in the master reservoir is always at the line. I'll keep looking for drips.

What you have to do is pull all 4 wheels and look for fluid at the caliper seals and the wheel cylinder seals. You also have to check for fluid at the master where it attaches to the booster and all the brake lines. You dont want to wait for a complete brake failure.
