• Hint: Use a descriptive title for your new message
If you're looking for help and want to draw people in who can assist you, use a descriptive subject title when posting your message. In other words, "1995 Trans Am" isn't going to indicate to anybody that you need help. However, "Need help with my 1995 Trans Am" will. Be as descriptive as you can. Please use common sense... Hi everyone. My wonderful Fiance just bought me my first car and it is a beautiful red 2001 Grand Am. We got her for only $200 because the previous owner didn't know what was wrong and didn't want to put the money in to it to get it fixed. So we took it off his hands and put a $10 dollar part in and fixed it. next thing we know the front axle needs to be replaced and then the brake pads. Soon after we replace the brake pads we realize that the brake rotors are messed up now and we have to replace those as well as the brake pads AGAIN. We have recently found a new oil leak but its not to bad and we can fix it. It was an amazing deal and its a beautiful car and I love it. Just kinda getting frustrated that these things keep popping up just as we are really short on cash and can't afford to drive the diesel guzzler every day. She is a sweet car though and I love driving her. She just cruises so well at 85 MPH. :D lol
Thanks for reading lol :p

Welcome to the forums ,;)

Just keep a eye on the coolant level/ coolant leaks around the intake manifold if its a V6, been known to fail and ruin the motor. ( gasket and bolt problems)

I had a 99 at one time , fast , nice cruising car.:)

yep yep. we had some fun a couple weeks ago when the rubber casing on the half shaft axle passenger side broke and we needed to replace it. we didnt have the cash at the time but we happened to have 2 GMC Jimmys sitting in the yard we were parting out and my fiance is a great mechanic. he took off the half shaft axle from the jimmy and switched the parts needed onto my Grand Am. works beautifuly! I was amazed that something like that is interchangable between certain GMCs lol. Lots of stuff that we plan on doing to her to make her perfect. Because my fiance does a lot of mechanic work and parting out cars and trucks he can do almost anything in the car. just as long as he has what he needs. its fun to see him try and jimy rig something though. :p
I can hardly wait till i get to drive her when she is all finished. doing the brakes and roters and rear brakes on her right now as well as a few other projects! Fun times. Be back soon im sure. always need someones help with something we cant quite figure out how to do!
