I have an 07 torrent awd with 161000 miles on it. The transmission has burned up and I am thinking about putting in a junk yard trans. If I put one in from an 09 torrent do I have to reprogram the computer or can I just swap it and be good?

Could ask the dealer to be sure, but what I read on the internet, says if the shift control module for the trans is swapped, it needs to be reprogrammed.
Not sure if it is all ready programmed, it will work with your current module.
I found that your trans and module is the same as any 2007-09 Torrent or Equinox.
And yes you will have to have someone scan the trans to reset the fluid change indicator.
