I have a 2003 Grand AM GT V6 with 154k miles. While driving the other day, my battery light appeared and then shut off. This was my first indication that I needed to change the Duralast Gold that I had for several years. While driving from Work to home so I can go to my local Parts store, the battery light appeared as we'll as the ABS light, then the car stalled. I managed to get a jump so that I can move the car to a safe place, however the car would not hold a long enough charge. After removing the old battery, and replacing it with a comparable one, the battery light still remains on. I read several posts that suggests replacing the alternator. But prior to doing this, I'd figure I should consult with my fellow car owners. Any suggestions? BTW I'm a green novice mechanic. Thanks
