Best gears for an Ls1

Trans Am? Which ones would be the best? Something that doesnt decrease top speed and is good in 0-60...
And can someone please explain to me the differences between them? I've heard Some decrease top speed but increase 0-60...

You cant have best of both with only changing the rear gears... but the lower the gears ( higher the number ) the better for acceleration. The higher the gears (lower the number) the better the top end. If you want monster acceleration, and a substanel loss of fuel MPG then go with 4.56 or 4.10 gears... for top end power, a 2.73 or 3.08 or 3.23 will be great... the best all around gear with a 4 speed auto is the 3.73 gears... Great low end power, and still hold a lot of top end and decent MPG. happy hunting and good luck. Hope this helped.
