Due to a very mild winter here in the NH Lakes region and a short and sweet mud season we were finally able to get the Fire Am out to the paved road for a road test. The Borgeson 800 steering box is all that they claim it to be. The feel is very firm and solid and the wandering on-centre numbness of the GM-Saginaw steering box has been completely vanquished. Highly recommend this upgrade for anyone looking to get a modern and precise steering feel and response as possible in pretty much any Saginaw box equipped car. Also, the clunking noises of the aftermarket intermediate steering shaft have been eliminated with the Ames Performance rebuilt OEM shaft. Also l, pictured below is the Wolff Engineering lower steering column bearing that replaced the sloppy OEM plastic bushing, also highly recommended.
All in all a very successful upgrade and the cost of the Borgeson box is very reasonable making this a great value.
