Bulbs In Heater Controls ??

There are 2 bulbs that are burnt in my son's heater controls in his 2000 Sunfire GT. They look like they just pull out but I am assuming they are like the ones in the radio and need to be soldered. Anyone ever changed these and exactly how do they come out. I am thinking it may be easier to go to the wreckers and just cut the wires that feed the 2 bulbs and change the whole wire and both bulbs.
