I found someone near me that has a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2L 4cyl engine, 4 door, for sale that has a blown head gasket. He wants $400 for it. It has about 168,000 miles and is in good shape. A couple minor small dents and some clear coat pealing. He said the engine is still in good shape. CD player in it, not sure on power windows or locks.

This is how he said it got the blown head gasket.
I just put a new radiator on it and filled it with water and forgot to put antifreeze in with it (Not the brightest guy). The next day he got up to drive it and it started over heating. Of coarse it got to freezing temperatures the night before. He said the water froze and busted the head gasket and it now has water in the oil. The only time he drove it after this was once up the street after it thawed out. It has been sitting for a few weeks while he has been trying to sell it. I plan on going and looking at it tomorrow. Bassed on this do you think it would be worth spending the money on this car. I plan on fixing it my self as much as I can to get it back running as an extra car for myself.

I figure I might get him to go down a little on the price because I will have to rent something to tow it back to my place 1.5 hours away.

So what do you think about this car?

how do you know he didnt crack the head or the block? stay away
