can i swap a standard 350 out a 86 trans am to a 87 firebird wit 2.8 automatic?
You will need the engine, trans, driveshaft, mounts, Interior parts, (console, shifter, etc.) and all the clutch linkage and pedals off the donor 86.
If you keep it an auto trans, You will need a new trans. The bellhousing is a different bolt pattern between the V-6 and the V-8.
It can be done but it is a lot of work
