speedster? I have a 1997 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am with a V8 5.7 L LT1 engine. And I think a 4L60E transmission. The trailer wait is 1500 lbs. Toung wait 100lbs. I was pulling in drive about 68 MPH and the transmission started smoking about 10 miles down the road. After a small hill. RPM's went up like the clutch was slipping. PLEASE HELP

I think fluid came out from the dip stick tube, I checked it and it was at the proper level, also it seemed discolored and bunt.
still shifts fine tho.

just call a dealership and ask them the towing cap. of your vehicle and the weight of watercraft if it is just a jet ski you should be fine but if it is the small boat might be on the heavy side maybe think of installing a transmission cooler might just do the trick can pick them up around 30.00 60.00 dollars from the parts store pretty easy to install if u do that kinda stuff not a major tech job

The tow rating is 1000lbs for these cars... Although I dont recomend it... If your tranny is sliffing and smoking, its cause you caused damage inside. It will need to be rebuilt.

Also the trans is not intended to be used for towing in overdrive if you tow at all it needs to be in "D" position not overdrive as it will over heat if OD is used ..
even with using drive I would recomend a cooler and trans service before doing it and if the car has 60000+ miles I would NOT tow with it at all..
