You didn`t say what motor you are replacing with what . But any way, you need the motor/trans / mounts / exhaust / hoses, and misc little parts. But yes it does bolt in, you just need to know what you are doing

What do you have for an engine now ?
even with a six cylinder you may not get the mileage you would think
depending on the engine you have now I would check into other options like increasing the effeciancy of it with different carb or possibly adding fuel injection , of corse you can replace the engine you have with a smaller V/8 again the work will very with the engine you have and are going to ...
your 79 should have either a 403ci olds based engine or one of the last Pontiac 400 ci engines if it has the latter I would suggest leaving it alone and getting a different car to drive everyday as it will be worth more with the original engine in place ...
on the other hand the olds 403 is a PIG both gas wise and performance wise
you could easily replace it with an olds 350 with a 2bbl carb and probably pick up a few MPG but replacing either the olds or pontiac engine would require replacing both the engine and trans exhaust, all of the bracketry and probably the cooling system and lots of other things ... you would probably be able to purchace another car (4cyl) to drive for what you would put into the T/A...
