Can you take off the factory spoiler on a 2000 pontiac sunfire coupe?

im going to get this 2000 pontiac sunfire and wanted to replace the spoiler with a more sporty and bigger one. Can i do this?
 
Some body shops can fill in the holes and fit a new spoiler but it may cost 200 dollars or more to repaint afterward.
