Here's a weird one: Everyone I talk to - Summit, Ames, etc., says the ball joints for all 64-70 fullsize Pontiacs are the same. BUT, the ball joints I ordered for my 1970 Catalina wagon do not fit correctly. The bolt patterns fit the control arms, but the uppers are too long and the lowers are too short (the offsets are wrong), with too wide a shank on the lowers. The lower shank won't even fit into the spindle hole.

I tried Proforged 10002 (uppers) and 10018 (lowers) from Summit, then returned them and ordered from Ames. They gave me the exact same (incorrect) parts from a different company.

This is a drum brake wagon with a 3-speed manual transmission. It originally came with a 400cid 2bbl (has a 4bbl now). I've looked through parts from other models, and can't find anything similar. Am I up the creek with this one?

Original Parts Group lists 1 uppers and 2 lowers. People gave good reviews on them saying they look and fit just like stock. List the same joints for 59-77 Catalina and 62-77 Grand Prix.

Doug in P.R. :)
