Cant keep it runnin

I have a 96 grand am se and I can't seem to keep it running. when i turn the kep on i can here the fuel pump kick on and it will start but imediately die. if I try starting it without turning the key off and then back on it will not start. If i continue to spray eather into the throttle body it will stay running, but i think it some connection or something to do with the fuel pump itself.

i dont know for sure but you could try the fuel pump relay or the fuel filter. i have a grand prix and they are both easy to change

Had the same problem a couple of weeks back in a '97 SE. Changed the pump, relay, float assembly and sending unit, and now all is well.

And for the first time, the gas gauge is darn near bang on, and doesn't stay on F for the first 1/4 tank.
