Cant put it in park

I just purchased a 1970 Lemans and I know I am going to have issues with it from setting so long.

I was out driving it today and came back home and cant get it into park. I can shift it into any other gear.

Does this sound like a bushings problem?

You will have to get under the car while an assistant attempts to put it into park. it could be the cable is knicked or it could be related to the the steering column interlock.

well i tried to push both the bar while putting it in park and the actual lever. I could almost push it hard enough but not quite.

something else I noticed. I am able to turn the car off in reverse or in drive and remove the key.

well while trying to put the car in park i noticed the column was moving some. I turned the column while putting it in park and it went back into park. I guess the column is loose causing the problem
