Car Alarm Question: How can I & how much would it cost to install an...

...alarm system on my 1999 Pontiac Firebird? I was advised to take the car to the dealer here in Austin, and get that fixed there, but I wonder if I really have to because I heard it was quite expensive..

Can you tell me if I can instal a good alarm system on my own, or take it to an auto shop to get that fixed up for an in-expensive price?

Any advice or recommendation would be highly appreciated,

since I dont know your skill level I cannt state whether you can do it on your own. Find one at an auto parts store, read the directions, and figure out whether you can do it on your own.
