Car shuts off by itself

FYI it will restart immediately if I give it some gas

Do you have a check engine light on?
Are you up to date on maintenance, plugs, filters, etc.?

No check engine light is on. Another weird thing is when it does this, it resets clock

Check both ends of the battery cables for a poor connection including the insulation on the cable ends for corrosion.
