Carburator

have a 400 Pontiac, slightly modified, hydraulic roller, roller rockers, mild port work, flat tops, 670 heads, Victor intake. This engine keeps flooding out and the carb is completely saturated with fuel. The previous owner had installed an electric fuel pump with no regulator, too much pressure? It is a 750 Holley HP.
 
Wow, that would be my first guess. Holleys want no less than 5, no more than 7 1/2 psi. Any more than that and you'll have problems. Have you measured the pressure to the carb? I wouldn't run an electric pump to a Holley without a good regulator. They are persnickety enough to dial in with optimum conditions.

If the car was running fine and all of a sudden developed this problem it is more likely you have an issue with the needle and seat assembly. With the engine off and cold remove one of the bottom float bowl screws on both the primary and secondary side. After the gas pours out on the manifold pour some water on the gas to wash it away. Pull the coil wire from the cap and ground it to metal on the firewall. Crank the engine for a few seconds so additional gas washes out the bowl screw holes. Again pour water to get rid of the gas and reconnect the coil wire. Start the car and see if your problem is resolved.

Regulator

Stopped by and picked a regulator. Installed and running great. As for the core plug, the jury is still out on that. I have tried hi-tac, silicone, and still it leaks. 3 different plugs as well. When I picked up the plugs, the Dorman part numbers were the same and the plugs were 3 different sizes, all made across the water.... I put an expansion plug in it just to get the other bugs worked out and it is holding fine. It is hidden behind the alternator so as not to be so obnoxious. Thanks for the response.. Glad to know there are still car people around....
 
Car reactor

I even spoke with Dorman directly and they could not even give me a correct part number because the head plugs do not come in the kit for the block. Site glass says float level is good according to Holley. May have to pull the head, disassemble, and have this plug hole milled larger and install a larger plug. Not until winter, it is is fun time now....
