A co-worker of mine has asked me to give him a hand in changing the head gasket(s) in his 2001 Pontiac Montana. He's going to buy the "Haynes Repair Manual" and we have access to a fully equiped garage for a weekend.
My question is... how long should it take to repace? Are there any tips or tricks to replacing them? Anything to watch out for?
I'd rather an answer from someone who's done them before on that type of van, amature or professional.
How long should it take a professional?
I've changed out engines and transmissons in less than a day, just never had to work on something so enclosed.
