i have a 2.8L firebird with a new air filter and exhaust. what other cheap ways are there to make this car quicker in any way.

and are computer chips recommended?

It's a 2.8L. Your efforts are pretty much useless. Swap in a 350. Trust me, that's cheap, easy, and worth every penny.

Cheap and quicker is an oxymoron statement when talking about the 2.8 V6.

Check out their V6 board though, there are a few die hard 2.8/3.1 V6 guys over there.

The only way is buy a fast car as the 2.8 is slow as a turtle andsucks gas.

I would even go for the 305 tpi before putting a dime into that v6 . or buy my 98 GTA for 2500 ;)

Bike Pedals would make it faster. No just put a V8 in it. Bigger engine=more power

A chip will not do anything , as made clear the 2.8 is a commuter engine Not a performance one ..save your money and time and trade up to a V/8 car if you want something faster ...

V8 yes 350 chev- swap trans too - have fun
