"Clangy" noise on 99 Pontiac...

...Sunfire? When I turn on the AC, the noise goes away and when I turn it off....its back. I was told it is the compressor clutch, so I sprayed some lube on the clutch, but is still is making a pretty loud sound, almost like keys jingling together. Any tips on how else to fix it without keeping the AC on in the winter?!

Sounds like the clutch for the compressor is going bad you can just unplug it at the compressor but if it is warn beyond repair there wont be anything you can do except replace the clutch or compressor ..
(FYI 99% of the time the compressor must be replaced)
