Alright, well I am having problems trying to figure out what is wrong with my car, it is a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am SE 2.4L.

Before I bought a new battery there were fast/continous clicking noises when I try to start it, I then bought a new battery and now it's just 1 click when I turn the key on and then 1 more click bringing the key back to the off position.

I have a video on YouTube of what the sound is like, but it won't let me post the link. It's called "Car not starting clicking noise" by user "WickedxEvolution".

I've read that it might be the starter or alternator, but am not sure and that's why I am asking. So does anyone know what it could be?

Thank you!

the alternator wont prevent the car from starting if the battery is fully charged
