I have a 1993 Pontiac Grand Am. It makes a noise that sounds like rocks tumbling in the front of the engine. I know that it is not the engine itself because I removed the fan belt and it stopped making the noise. I thought maybe it was the power steering pump, so I replaced it, and it still made the noise.

I am kinda thinking it is the water pump now. The engine is a 3300 v6. Does anybody have some suggestions?? or the same problem?

Thanks in advance!!

sounds like water pump when belt is on it puts tension on the bearing im thinbkin water pump is ready to be replace when that happens they usually go bad

that is the water pump bearing making that noise.

LOL we laugh at mechanics who replace expensive parts one at a time
