clutch disc

I bought a new cluch set,but the disc is thicker than the old one,does anyone know if there were 2 different clutchs in a 86 2.5 5 speed?

well the new one would be thicker since it's not worn, exactly how much thicker?

when i put the new clutch in,I do not have the pedal to release the disc from the flywheel,I have 0.60 shims between pressure plate and flywheel to release the clutch,but with this shim,my throwout bearing is running against the pressure plate

any chance you put the disc in backwards or dont have the throwout bearing correctly attached to the fork?
