Sunfire 2.2L Manual transmission 70K mile? Clutch pedal travels to the floor with no resistance.
2004 Pontiac Sunfire 2.2L
Manual transmission
70K miles
No prior signs of a failing clutch (no slipping, grabbing, shuddering, “spongy” feel, or any abnormal noises)
Wife drove the car to work and left it in a parking garage.
She reported no trouble on her way in.
After her shift, the clutch pedal “fell” to the floor with no resistance
Upon inspection...
Brake fluid and master cylinder reservoir both have acceptable fluid levels.
No puddles under the vehicle.
Absolutely no hydrolic pressure in the clutch
Car does start when the pedal is pressed to the floor.
Cannot engage any gear when the car is started or off.
Clutch assembly in the interior of the vehicle appears intact
Release lever?
Master or slave cylinder?
Other?
