HI there, I have a 1997 pontiac transport van with a p0341 code. I replaced the camshaft sensor twice and checked all the appropriate voltages to the sensor. I'm convinced its not the camshaft sensor. The van run nice. Tends to want to stall at low rpm. At 2000 rpm the engine cuts back otherwise it runs nice. Is it possible that the code set is not related to the camshaft sensor. On my code reader the o2, htr, and egr are flashing. Not sure what that means. Any ideas?

I have the same problem. Code p0341. Replaced camshaft sensor twice & 24x crankshaft sensor. Engine runs fine but kicks back at 3500 rpm. Wants to stop at low idle. Otherwise the engine is working great. I have the O2,HTR,EGR monitors flashing in scanner window along with the P0341 code. Anyone have any ideas?

You probably have some wiring problems, from the ECM to the sensor. Or possibly (but rarely) a ECM internal failure. Also you can check all the ECM grounds.

I've checked all the wiring for the 24x crankshaft sensor and the camshaft sensor. Both have good grounds and good voltage. Both sensors have been replaced. I checked the wire from the cam sensor to the pcm. The signal is present at the pcm. Weird. Some people are saying that I have a timing chain that is stretched or skipped one tooth. I find that hard to beleive. I do have 230,000 kms on the van. I was thinking the EGR would maybe cause the symtoms but still would not explain the code, so I checked all of it. Voltages and Continuity checks all pass. My next guess would be to replace the PCM. I think that I need to go to the dealer for that. Maybe go to the wrecker and pull one out of a van of similar year and make. I havent checked the 7x crankshaft sensor yet but I'm pretty sure the vehicle wouldn't start if it was bad. Any ideas before I replace the PCM. I will check all the grounds for the PCM before I replace it though.

Found the problem, p0341 is gone!!

I replace the pcm from the wrecker and no change to the p0341 code. I made a few more voltage checks and found the connector to the camshaft sensor had a pin that was not seating correctly. I noticed on the male end (not the sensor itself) that the 12 volt red wire was not seating with the pin on the sensor connector. I bent the internal pin to make it seat better and voila, no more p0341.:D

Victor thanks for sharing your fix and glad your back on the road, just think if you would have taken to dealer what the cost would be .Plus you have learned a lot and maybe you can educate us dummies .
