i am looking at a 92 pontiac firebird and the guy says it has a collapsed lifter is this a hard and expensive fix? what would it take to fix it?

Thats not hard to fix. Just remove the valve cover & pull the bad lifter........But if it has a flat cam lobe that is a whole new can of worms.
