column console to floor shifter console

I am trying to change my 1964 LeMans from a column shifter to a floor shifter. Does anyone know if you can use a 1964 console that was originally a column shifter and convert it to a floor shifter? I have looked at pictures and I have a cut out where the floor shifter would go. I believe all I might need would be the plate that shows the gear selection and the shifter.

You can see pictures of the manual and automatic floor consoles in the GTO catalogue from www.amesperf.com. They are listed for 65 and up but will fit 64. Try giving them a call with your question.
