Hi,

I just got a quote from the dealer;

- They wanted $510 to the front sway bar links to be installed (3 hours labour @ $130/hr)

- $260 for the front control arm bushings (1.5 hours @$130)

- alignment @$149

Perhaps I am missing something, as this may be more difficult a job than I have done in the past. Is there something complicated about these jobs????
I have done control arms in the past.

Input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!

Newer cars arent really complicated, they just have more stuff to disconnect just to get to the part you are looking to repair.

You need this to see if that info is in there before you do try to do it yourself, either buy at an autoparts store or borrow from the library.

Cheapest Haynes manual on Ebay:

You are still going to have to get an alignment when done..........;)

The front sway bar links are easy to do , not sure why they want so much money? Are the replacing the sway bar also? Never did the control arm bushing so can't comment . Good luck keep us posted.

you dont need a dealer, find an independant shop, you should be able to find them with labor rates of $100/hr or less depending on what part of the country you live in

Well...I did the links. Must be one of the easier repair jobs I have done on this vehicle. Unless they do something I did not, I cant understand how 1.5 hours per side was calculated.

I did not replace the bushings yet. They really did not look that bad. Is there a way to test them? They are under tension, not sure how to check?

Thanks for all the replies.

if they do not look cracked or distorted in anyway there is no reason to change them
