Cooling system leak

So, I have this car. It happens to be a 1994 Pontiac Sunbird with the good ole 2.0L engine. 195,120Kms

I took it in to get air cared (emissions control test up here in BC Canada) and they kicked me out because the car was smoking. I pulled out of the testing facility and opened the hood. In the very back of the engine, passenger side, there is a short piece of hose. Probably 4" long. It attaches to a metal hose which works it's way to the drivers side. The other end attaches to an aluminum housing of sorts. I am hesitant to call that the water pump.

Has anyone had that leaking before and may know the I.D. of that hose?

OR does anyone have a firewall-side picture of a pulled engine so I can more easily see what I may be dealing with?

Any help would be a big help.

I've a '93 Sunny Boid with the 2.0 non turbo and 176,600 ticks and NEVER saw such a leak in that area. No idea what for the hose was designed.

Junkyards having cars in your era will have visible bits for what you seek....unless they've all been crushed.

the two smaller hoses tha go into the firewall would be for the heater core about an 1/2" dia smaller alum hoses are your ac

94 Pontiac Sunbird Leak

Hello,

The hose that you are mentioning does attach the water pump to a metal hose that travels underneath the intake. At the present moment I am experiencing the same/similar issue and it appears to be that the metal hose has has a hole in it. So far what I have done is put coolant dye in the radiator fluid so that I may find the leak once I remove the intake with a UV light and googles. Have not gotten that far yet but should get there next weekend. As I make progress I will take photo's and post them in a thread that I hope will help others that may have this same issue. Also mine is a 94 with the 2.0.
