as of late my cars been running a lil hot at times, finally yesterday after taking a short trip when i got home i went in the house i went back out side a short time later and discoverd coolant on the black top in my drive way.. after nosing around under the hood i found that there was a small crack in my coolant bottle, could this have also cause my car to over heat??? and i also noticed that my low coolant light did not come on while this was going on.. also had issues with my water pump in the past and once again the low coolant light did not come on... my boy friends gonna replace the coolant bottle.. does the replacement come with a new sensor?? any help would be dearly appreciated... thanks

if he gets the bottle from a junk yard it may have the sensor but a new bottle probably would not have it. Assuming you have a seperate cap on the radiator, when the engine is cold remove the cap and make sure the radiator is full. If not add an equal amount of distilled water and antifreeze or if you buy premixed antifreeze no water is needed. The bottle should be filled to the cold line indicated on the bottle.
