My car is a Pontiac Montana 2003. Just start the engine if I push the throttle pedal, then when I release stops it

I suspect of low fuel pressure but I not have a fuel pressure gauge. Fuel filter and fuel pressure regulator are almost new, the pressure at vacuum hose of the fuel pressure regulator is in nominal range

I temporary removed the fuel pump fuse, and checked current in it:

At 2000 rpm is 4.68 A
At 1000 rpm is 4.55 A

Please somebody could comment me on these current levels. Thanks

are you measuring volts V or amps A?
fuel pumps use 12+ volts V
rent a fuel pressure tester.
do you have a check engine light on?

Both, 13.9 volts and 4.6 amps average

No unusual light engine, no new fail codes

I would like to know if this 4.6 amps is out of range for indicate a failed fuel pump

I have never seen anybody check amps on a fuel pump.
You appear to be testing on a running engine to account for a 13.9 volt reading.
You need to run a fuel pressure test.
You state no "new" fail codes, does that mean you still have old fail codes?
You may have a throttle position sensor issue or an idle air control issue.

I lost time checking every where but IAC because is almost new brought around 3 years ago at local store A.......ne with "warranty for life". When remove it show plunger all extended (means closed passage of air) and deformed spring

I claimed for back my money and buy another one better brand, but they just changed it by other new same brand Duralast

Hope the new IAC solves your problem.

Solved thanks. I drove since yesterday and works normal

A spare part with "warranty for life" just mean that seller change for a new one every time broke. No real warrant free of fail

Conclusion: When making a diagnosis it will be necessary to consider, as possible failed, these "pearls with warranty for life" inclusive if they are almost new
