dash lights not working 1998 grand am

okay, so i recently installed a new radio inside my 1998 grand am . After installing i didn't bother to check the lights in the car. i went out that night and i couldn't see anything. i figured it was the dimmer because the dimmer only turned on the light under the roof of the car. so i went to the junk yard and got five of them.. every single one of them did the exact same thing. only the light under the roof of the car.

please help me out . i really don't want to have to go and buy switches and have to go through all that trouble of connecting them and all that stuff.

have you checked the fuses? Sounds like you may have blown one when you installed the radio. If you find a blown fuse and it blows again when the lights are turned on check the wiring at th the radio for a short or bad connection.

other possiblity is you miss wired something when you installed the radio
