Daytime running lights

I just bought an led strip light about 8" long , it has a tape on backing and I stuck them just under the headlights and ran the wire to the DRL module input. The leds don't draw much current and run on the +12 volts. Right now I am looking for some kind of end caps to hold the leds in place, just incase that tape lets go in -35 temperatures. Hey if leds are good enough for BMW,AUDI and Mercedes
