Delayed Locking

2005 bonne. with delayed locking feature. works only part of the time. sometimes the security light will come on immediately when a door is opened and the delay feature can be then used. other times the security light does NOT come on as it should when a door is opened after removing the key, still other times it takes up to several seconds before the light comes on and the delay feature can be used. is there a fix ? so that it will always work correctly?

are the interior lights coming on when you open the door or do they also follow the sometimes pattern? The BCM could have a poor connection, try pulling the connector and reseating it.

have not noticed the lights but will watch now for a while. and BTW what exactly is a BCM and where is it located?

body control module, look for it on the passengr side foot well area under the glove box area

ok i did notice the interior lights work intermittently along with the delayed locking feature. will check the BCM when i get a chance. thank you

My original reply to this about the interior lights was wrong. since i have settings which do not allow interior lights to come on unless it is dark ouside, (do not come on during the daytime) then i cannot make any connection between the delayed locking and the interior lights.
