Yes, a Fiero is a great "project car".
A junk yard buddy of mine once referred to the Fiero as a "parts bin" car.
Meaning, GM built the Fiero with many parts common to other models.
I bought a lifetime warranty starter the other day for $60.
In the 90's it was probably the most common donor car for kit car projects.
There is still an active enthusiast following in the US, Canada, and abroad.

The Fiero is a very fun car to drive and looks cool.
The body is plastic and there are endless bodywork modifications you can buy or do yourself.
I got a Fiero because I wanted to build an F355 clone (look it up) but the americaness of the car grew on me.
Other stock GM power plants with substantially more horsepower can be bolted in without major alteration.
I have owned lots of things with wheels and my Fiero is one of my favorites.
