There isn't enough difference to affect insurance. If you want to be completely sure, do an online quote from Progressive, GEICO, etc and the form will ask about the car model, etc. try it for both engines and it will tell you. I think you'll find it makes no difference.

i have a 2000 grand am gt and becuze i'm financing it, i need to have full coverage and thats only costing me around $130 a mth if i remember right.
