is located? I have a Pontiac sunfire and my manual tells me where the air filter is but not the fuel filter. Are they the same thing?

No, air filter goes on top of the moter. The fuel filter is under the car in the rear, between the fuel tank and the rear axle. It is very easy to get to. Mine is a 96 so it should be in the same area. Good luck!

not the same thing...the fuel filter is probable underneath near the gas tank.....

They are different. Look on the right side (passenger) in the rear around the wheel well. Should be attatched to the frame real and is about 4 inches long, by about 2 inches in diameter. Before removing it, check the auto parts folks to see if you need any adapters!
