Door lock cylinder trouble

Hello all, I had my locks punched out (theft) and I’m having trouble with the blue clip to get the rod off in limited space to get my hands in there. Any tips or tricks to this blue clip? Tia.

I usually use a skinny flat headed screwdriver with a bend in it to get them off..
