Thanks for taking the time to ready my question.

I just purchased a 2006 Torrent. I really like it.

For the first week or so that I had it, it did not rain, but I did take it to the car wash. I did not notice any wetness/dampness on the drivers foot well. I took the vehicle in as the dealership needed to fixe a few things, and when I got it back the floor was wet.

I have been putting a small space heater on the floor to try to dry it out. It seems dry, but then I'll drive somewhere and when I get home, it feels damp again. It only feels damp on the very left side of the floor, where it transitions from flat to up and to the door (I hope that makes sense) I tried drawing a picture to help: attached (good 'ol Google Sketchup)

I keep drying it (or at least I think I'm drying it), but then it seems to come back. It has rained this past week almost every day, so if there was a real leak you would think the floor would be quite wet, but it never really gets wet where you could soak any up with a rag.

I've done a lot of searching on line, but can't really seem to find anything that describes what I'm seeing.

The dealership had to fix the radio as I could not get any stations, my heated seat malfunctioned, and the left turn signal was not working 100%. I'm not sure if while fixing those items they could have done something...

I've also tried looking for Technical Service Bulletins but haven't come up with anything.

If someone could point me in a direction that would be great.

Thanks again for your time,
Brad

Have you been using your A/C or the defroster or defogger? If so all of these would cause possible wetness if the evaporator core drain hose was clogged.

Hi melsg5,

Thanks for your reply.

I have not. The temp here has been such that neither the heat nor the a/c is required. If anything, I've been using the heat.

How could I check if it was the evaporator core drain hose?

Thanks again,
Brad

Typically it would be on the passenger side under the dash.

Brad,
I would like to apologize for the issues that you are experiencing with your vehicle. I would suggest that you take your vehicle back into your dealer to have them look into this for you. They are in the best position to get this issue diagnosed for you. I would also like you to keep me posted on this. If you have any other questions please feel free to contact me anytime.
Thank you,

Hi Stacy,

Thank you very much for your reply to my post.

Are there some TBS's that I can pass their way that could make their diagnosis quicker? My dealer is over an hour away and they don't do service on Saturday's, just oil changes. So I will have to take some time off work to get it looked at. So the faster they can get it done, the less time I have to take off. Would any of this be covered by GM? I purchased my Torrent used as a GM Optimum Pre Owned.

Also, I washed my vehicle this weekend and my floor is wet again. I triple checked that my doors, windows, and sun roof were all fully closed before washing. I have been putting my space heater in my vehicle for a few hours every evening and finally got it mostly dry. Now that I washed my vehicle, the drivers side is very wet again. I will use a towel to soak up the majority of the wetness, and begin again with my heater to dry it out.

Any help would be great.

Thanks,
Brad

have you carefully examined the door weatherstripping for any tears or distortion? Have someone hose one section of the vehicle at a time while you sit inside and look for a water source.

Good idea. I'll do that.

I did have a good look at the weatherstripping when we purchased the vehicle and that was just over a month and a half ago. I'll do another inspection though.

Brad,
I am sorry but I do not have information on TSB's that may be available for this issue. You would have to speak to your dealer in regards to this. I do understand your concerns with the dealer being so far away. If you would like to send me a PM with your VIN I would be happy to look into this a little further for you. Either way please keep me posted and if you have any other questions please feel free to contact me anytime.
Thank you,

have you fixed your problem? if not, could it be windshield washer fluid? the line that runs to the rear hatch. i had this problem a week ago. a break in the line was siphoning all the washer fluid out of the reservoir.

Do you have a sun roof? I have the same issue, and I can see it when going through a stay-in car wash. I've been told blowing out the drain holes may help.

Did you ever resolve this issue? My Wife's Torrent was doing something very similar where the floor would be wet after rain, car wash etc....to the point the car would lose all power and barely get above idle.
The problem ended up being the "weatherstrip" where the bottom outside edge of window glass meets the door, where it goes down inside it. It had come unsealed from the edge of the door and allowed water down inside door and onto floor. I super glued the weather strip back on and it has been fine for about 1 year now.
