I have a 4-door 2003 Pontiac Grand Am GT. I noticed when I attempted to go through a drive thru this evening that the driver's side window will not roll down, but the other 3 windows will. Also, the window lock doesn't work. I lock the windows, but the other 3 roll down anyway. What could be causing this?

There may be a break in the wire harness going from the door to the door post.

Can you hear the window motor running when the button is pressed? If so either the cable broke or the clip attaching the the regulator to the cable has broken.
If the motor is not running it may be a bad switch, motor or connection.

The window lock does not affect the control at the drivers side of the other 3 windows, only the control on the other doors.

So when I got in the car this morning to go to work, on a whim, I tried rolling the window down for the driver's side and...it worked. The window lock still doesn't work so that may have just been a coincidence on the timing of when I noticed that the two weren't working. The only difference between yesterday's window not working and it working this morning is the temperature. Yesterday it was in the 70's and quite warm in my car and this morning and throughout today its in the 30's. Does that change what could be causing the problem? I'm inclined to believe its the switch...

It could be something as simple as the fuse for your power windows & door locks? Did you check that to see if it needs to be replaced?
