Hi all, New member here.

I am restoring a 1981 Turbo Trans Am. Progress has been posted up on 301 Garage site being a Turbo.

I just got the motor in and started it with no engine issue per say.

I dont have the computers grounded out thru the dash, though I have run a ground lead to make sure it wasn't an issue. I also dont have the 8 inch AC compressor harness hooked up, but I have grounded it out to make sure that isnt an issue.

I am not getting head lights, parking brake light, any instruments on the dash or dash light. or AC/Heater fan.

What I do get is dome and floor lights, brake lights, choke lights(stays on even when the choke opens up) Windshield wipers buzzard when the key is turned on.
I have a good ground to the chassis showing 12+ volts between the battey and cab. Yet no power to most of the Fuse panel.

I have a new engine harness, AC harness, with all original harness front and rear and CCC for the emission.

Thanks

Tim

No i dont have any manual except a build manual. No wiring at all other then where they connects.

There is only two wires to the starter a heavy one to the battery and a purple that goes to the harness. There is two red wires that go to the alternator. One off the harness connects with the wire that runs to the battery, about a 10 guage wire and they connect on the post off the back of the alternator. The other red wire is on a blade connector with a black, that plugs into the alternator and goes back to the harness. Each red wire off the alternator run back to the fuse block engine side.

that diagram shows a wire with a fusible link coming off the heavy positive post and going to the fuse box. You don't have the original starter harness?

The original has been replaced, but I do have the original engine harness and it has one wire that runs down to the starter. Brownish red in color as the new harness M&H is purple. There isn't a separate starter harness on my car. Just a positive running to the battery and a purple wire running off the engine harness

I have 12 volts going into the fuse box from the engine bay.

Making progress,
The red wire with the black stripe blade was pushed to the side and missed the female. pushed it back over and have power.

I have the clock working, high beam indicator, dash lights, check engine light all working.

Quick check no fuel, voltage, tach, oil or temp indicators working, and the fan still isn't though the AC compressor harness with the ground isn't connected waiting on it from M&H. Ran out of time just a quick fix of the harness, but I think I can jump the ground on the AC harness and check it.
