Engine backfire won't start 88 4 cylinder

Engine turns over but backfires and spits fire out the throttle body. I recently replaced the fuel pump & filter and it started up and ran fine for a day. It sat for two days and now won't start again like it did before the fuel pump replacement. I replaced the ignition module, coil packs, wires, plugs, etc. about a year ago and it has been fine up until recently. Any ideas? Thanks.

did you check for any computer codes? did you pull the plugs and check if they are fouled?

Check the routing of your spark plug wires. Sounds like you have them on wrong.

Well, I feel silly. The car set for two days and it fired right up and runs beautiful. I think I flooded it. Thanks

Better that then a real problem, thats why I asked about the plugs.
