I have a 1998 Pontiac Bonneville SLE with 226k miles and about five months ago the engine began "cutting out/loses power" for a couple seconds at highway speeds and then seems to be fine although last week it stalled while a was on the highway and I could not get it restarted and had to be towed. It always seems to be about 20 minutes after I have been driving and it is pretty sporadic.....I can go a few days without it happening. It seems that it is getting progressively worse since five months ago. At very slows speeds, I have had it just stall out and have usually been able to get it restarted fairly quickly but on occassion, I have had to let it sit for a few minutes. My mechanic is not certain but said it could be the Mass Air Flow Sensor or possibly the Crankshaft Sensor. He was not able to get it to act up after I had it towed so he did not want to just replace these because of the cost of especially the Mass Air Flow Sensor. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
