Another thread on my sunbird- my fuel "recovery" canister, ion the front right corner of my engine bay, may now, after 30 years, be charcoal saturated, and useless. Also, the 2 rubber hoses are rotted. Basically it's dead, so what's the harm in disconnecting it and maybe removing the hoses/stoppering them off?
Unless I can rig up a universal one, may be an idea. After I come back from a trip, car sits a minute or 2, I smell fuel from the hood. Not a big deal, but has to come from somewhere, even emitting from the TBI area. Hey, car runs on gas, right?
I did, BTW, try eliminating the 2 hoses from the vac system to see if it had any affect on my continuing rough idle problem, and no difference.
