Wanted to pass on a quick fix to anyone who has a faded gear selector on your automatic transmission. Get spray can of surveyors orange marking paint. Take off your center counsel which houses your gear shift. This involves removing the t-handle and the hex scews under the ashtrays. turn over the panel and position it with the opening at the top. Slide the clear plastic gear selector to the top past "Park" to the opening at the top. Pull the gear selector at a 45 deg angle towards the gear indicator windows. At the same time CAREFULLY pull the gear selector towards you through the opening to clear the gear selector windows area and it should pop out of the guide. (be careful not to force it, it WILL break the plastic welds holding the guide to the back of the panel!) Take 300 grid sandpaper and sand the orange tip on the gear selector. Use the surveyors orange marking paint and lighty spray across the tip once or twice to cover the tip. Let dry and then reinstall the gear selector into the guide on the panel. You can use any color you like, but I like the stock color look.
