Failing sensors after tuneup

Couple issue I need advise on.

Service engine light came on went to AutoZone they found cylinder 6 miss firing. Spoke to car shop they said

probably spark plus/wire and to bring it in.

Went they ran diags they found four issues.

1. Fuel sending sensor was bad 9been that way for over year never caused error light to come on )
2. Cylinder miss firing
3. Cam sensor

And one other not sure what that was at this point.

So I took my 2001 Aztec in for a tune up due to the miss firing on cylinder 6. They where looking under hood

and noticed that when they sprayed water near spark plug they could see sparks, turns out wire where shorting.

Did the following

Tune up wires and plugs
Fuel injector flush
Coolant flush
And oil change
Also had tie rod replaced due to popping noise.

The other thing they said which was weird was that the errors where cleared and they asked if I had them

cleared I said no. Tech said must have been AutoZone doing it. I had the service engine soon light come on at

least a half dozen or more times before getting it in for repair due to money. So not sure how errors where

clearing them selves they swear that they where cleared and only way for that to be done is with module.

About 3 day later the service engine light and the service vehicle soon light came on also temperature gauge

went to well below cold. Took it back in they found that temperature sensor was bad, replaced it.

Drove off got gas service engine light came back on gauge was working fine. Went back in they then told me now

it was showing cam sensor was bad. Spoke to car repair place they said as long as car was starting not to worry

about it because probably caused by my bad fuel sending gauge. Waited until the next day to do anything. Light

went off figured it may have been related to pressure in fuel line. Had that happen before when gas cap is not

on tight. 2 days later both lights came back on again and temperature sensor went back down to below cool. Have

not gone back in yet.

I do not think that it could possibly be a faulty sensor that was replaced but I am sure either that or shop is

going to tell me it’s related to some other issue. To me this sounds electrical and not like any thing actual

wrong with sensors. Also wondering it temperature sensor was bad to begin with.

Funny thing about all this is never had service engine light or service vehicle light come on before tune up.

Was the cooling system properly bled after the work? The sensor can't measure the coolant temperatures if it isn't immersed.

Not 100% sure on that I can ask but im sure the response will be of course it was

Suggest that if you have doubts about your garage - it's time to find another garage. There are lots of reputable mechanics out there - the challenge is to find them and to set up a good relationship with them.

AutoZone, PepBoys, WalMart, etc. would not be my first choices for other-than-routine items.

no the shop is not one of those and it my wifes best friends brother, so not worried about being worked over, just fustrated. They took it back into day and replaced a theromstate to see if that help, sensor check out fine they did bleed the coolant line again. So well see how this goes.
